It’s hard to tear yourself away from the bustling souks and cafés of Marrakech, but the city is also a strategic base for discovering another side of Morocco. Set off on a day trip to the Atlas Mountains to visit Amazigh villages, hike to the Setti Fatma waterfalls in the Ourika Valley, and enjoy a tagine lunch by a mountain stream.

There are plenty of quad bike excursions available from Marrakech. You’ll pass through a variety of landscapes: mountains, lakes, desert, Berber villages and wadis…
The Agafay Desert is particularly close by, offering quad bike and camel rides, complemented by sunset dinners at an Amazigh camp or, for early risers, hot-air balloon flights at dawn.
Hiking
From Marrakech, numerous excursions will take you into the High Atlas Mountains. Hikes on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback, lasting a day or several days, will take you into the High Atlas to discover the Berber villages of Toubkal. Via the Tizi N’Tichka pass, you can set off in a 4×4 towards the desert and the oasis valleys of the Draa and Dades. Via the Tizi N’Test pass, you can explore the Anti-Atlas mountains and the pink granite of Tafraout.
Hot-air balloon flight
Every flight promises breathtaking views and offers a magical flight over the Moroccan landscape from a unique perspective.
